Opening word documents from tigra tree menu system etc

I have been fiddling around with Tigra Tree Menu and seems to be very good.

I have looked at previous posts to the forrum and discovered how to open new html webpages when click on tree items but I was wondering if you can also open work documents and excel documents to new windows by clicking on the tree items.

I have tried several things but I am not sure where to find the area to enable me to do this. I can do it on a normal html web page which I created I am able but when I try within tigra tree menu either nothing happens?

If you system permits open such documents with a simple link:
<a href="my_doc.xml" target="_blank">Try to open XML</a>
then tree also will work fine with it.
