How to click field to invoke popup calendar?

I know this is possible, and maybe I am missing something, but can anyone tell me how to invoke the calendar by just clicking in the form field?

Right now, some viewers are simply typing the date into the field, and not clicking on the calendar image to invoke the popup calendar. I'd like to make it so that when they click in the form field to type in a date, it automatically invokes the popup calendar.

Any simple ideas? (I am using the popup calendar in a php doc if that matters any, and I am not a php guru!)
